Did you know that more than 1 million women in the U.S. enter menopause each year — but nearly 75% never receive treatment for their symptoms?
Please take a moment to read this important message from our Women’s Health team. It highlights how each of us can play a role in supporting our patients and helping grow this essential service at MFM.

Hi team,
Menopause care is changing — and MFM is leading the way.
For years, many avoided hormone therapy due to misinterpretations of the early 2000s Women’s Health Initiative study, which overstated risks like breast cancer. We now know that when guided by a trained provider, Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT) is not only safe for most women/AFAB (assigned female at birth) patients — it's highly beneficial.
MHT can:
Improve quality of life by reducing hot flashes, night sweats, and mood changes
Lower the risk of osteoporosis and hip fractures
Reduce urinary tract infections
Protect against cognitive decline
Even reduce risks for some breast and colon cancers
Dr. Burrows and I are trained in modern menopause care and ready to serve more patients. But to build this department, we need your support.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Providers:
Start referring women/AFAB patients as early as age 40 — early care brings the most benefit
Don't wait for symptoms to worsen — we can help sooner
Even postmenopausal patients can benefit — refer them too
Support Staff:
Refer anyone mentioning sleep issues, hot flashes, or mood shifts
Know a friend, family member, or patient who could benefit? Send them our way
We have the expertise — and with your help, we can reach more people and lead the way in modern women’s health. Let’s make it happen, together.
Thank you!
